All breeders must apply via a form available below. We do not accept applications through any other means. The criteria we use to assess breeders are as shown:
We feel that a 2 year minimum is reasonable in consideration of new breeders. While we expect long established breeders to have longer guarantees, 2 years is the minimum for endorsement on the registry.
It is important that no kitten goes home as a pet intact. This is to prevent contributing to backyard breeding and to help control breeding lines. A spay/neuter clause in a contract is not considered sufficient as kittens can be spayed/neutered at 8 weeks or when they reach 2 pounds.
Kittens must be well and properly socialized before going to their new homes, and they're still learning how to be well-adjusted kittens from their mother until at least 12 weeks of age. Kittens should not be placed before 12 weeks minimum, and it is recommended to wait until even 16 weeks.
While some breeders choose to vaccinate themselves, it is still important for all kittens to be seen by a veterinarian to confirm a clean bill of health. Additionally, it is not uncommon for kittens to have litterbox and digestive issues after going home due to stress and/or change in diet so confirming via a fecal panel before they go home that the kitten is indeed healthy will give peace of mind to both you and the new owner.
This is not required but showing your cats is how you see how you stack against others and the breed standard. Health is important, and those adopting from you may not care so much about breed standard, but part of breeding Sphynx (or any breed for that matter) is breeding Sphynx that look like Sphynx. Additionally, we recommend that kittens are registered with your association of choice before going home.
